The presentation will introduce virtue ethics as a framework to help social workers understand and apply ethical behavior to their own individual contexts; both professional and personal. Participants will explore various ethical theories to consider how social workers develop and practice the ethical competencies required to do their job well. A brief overview of virtue ethics theory will be included, highlighting ways that it intersects with the field of social work. Participants will undergo a series of self-reflective exercises to integrate the concepts that are most applicable to social work practice.
