3 CEUs - may be counted as Clinical

Hosted by: NASW-MN, NASW-MN, and NASW-TX
Presenters: Dr Louis Boynton, PhD, LPC, Charles D. Safford, LCSW and Celia Grand, LCSW, BCD, PA

LCSWResearch has consistently shown that anxiety is the most common of allsymptoms presented in mental health treatment. This three-hour core clinicalprogram will provide important information about how to integrate emergingneuroscience concerned with anxiety and anxiety disorders into your clinicalpractice in a clinically appropriate and ethically compliant manner. Designed tobring the 21st Century clinician up to date on current research related toadvances in our understanding of anxiety-related disorders - etiology, assessment and treatment - this course will provide practical tools andapproaches to assist the clinician in providing more effective treatment forclients addressing anxiety and anxiety disorders.

This is the third program of a series of programs designed to help master’s level clinicians advance their knowledge base in the integration of neuroscience into their practice.

A Neuroscience-Informed Use of Self In The Therapeutic Relationship

3 CEUs

Hosted by: NASW-MN, NASW-MN, and NASW-TX
Presenters: Dr Louis Boynton, PhD, LPC, Charles D. Safford, LCSW and Celia Grand, LCSW, BCD, PA

Current research indicates the most important factor inpositive clinical outcomes for clients is the characteristics ofthe clinician themselves, rather than treatment modalityused. This 3-hour program will provide to attendees themost current research in neuroscience to update andexpand long-held and relied upon theories about how todevelop and optimize the use of the self in treatment foroptimal treatment outcomes, to include self-managementand self-regulation in practice.

This is the fourth program of a series of programs designed to help master’s level clinicians advance their knowledge base in the integration of neuroscience into their practice.

Unlocking the Default Mode Network: A Deep Dive Into Understanding the Default Mode Network in Neuroscience-Informed Therapy

NASWMN Chapter 0 64

Friday, August 22nd, 2025 11:30am - 3:45pm CT via Zoom
4 CEUs - may be counted as Clinical

Hosted by: NASW-MN, NASW-MN, and NASW-TX
Presenters: Dr Louis Boynton, PhD, LPC, Charles D. Safford, LCSW and Celia Grand, LCSW, BCD, PA

The Default Mode Network (DMN) is one of the most important recentdiscoveries in affective neuroscience. As an important meta-system, it is a keyplayer in functions related to the self and social cognition, memory processing, future thinking, and creative solution generation. Malfunctioning of this systemand its interactions with two other key neurological systems contributessignificantly with numerous psychological problems. This four-hour core clinicalprogram will provide important foundational knowledge about the DMN in asystematic, readily understandable and easily digestible way and will help eachattendee integrate emerging knowledge about the DMN into your clinicalpractice in a clinically appropriate and ethically compliant manner. In additionto bringing the clinician up to speed with this key area of knowledge, thiscourse will provide practical tools and approaches to assist the clinician inproviding more effective treatment for clients who present with an expansivenumber of symptoms and disorders.

This is the fifth program of a series of programs designed to help master’s level clinicians advance their knowledge base in the integration of neuroscience into their practice.
